Mohan and Modi in Nagpur :: Pix - TSE
Entire country, particularly the saffron parivar, is eager to know the agenda for talks between the two patriarchs of the Sangh when they meet on Hindu New Year Day, 30th March at Nagpur. According to a Sangh source, Shri Modi will enter the RSS headquarters as a Swayamsevak.
He will start the visit with a darshan in Smruti Mandir and pay homage to the founding leaders following the Varsha Pratipada traditiona. Then he will have a meeting with Mohan ji the Sarsangchalak. A brief one to one meeting between the two is highly anticipated.
Parivar people believe that this meeting will give a tranquil effect on the ongoing frictional relations within the parivar. They may decide the name to lead the Party. Then they may also talk about RSS centenary celebration 2025-26 for inspiring the youths (15-30 years of age) to be involved in Nation building and other important National issues.
The two leaders may also ponder a little about the State of Manipur where people have lost faith in democracy. Now the people feel that netas have not done enough for them.
These days they have more faith in the power and capabilities of the bureaucrats, police and army. In the last one and half months people have gained a feeble confidence that they think that they can now survive as citizens of a civilized society.
But they still lack full confidence. Restoration of their faith in democracy and rule of law may take another 4 and half months . In the meanwhile a huge healing financial touch from the Centre is the need of the hour.
Here in Manipur people belonging to Sanamahism celebrate New Year on the same day which is popularly known as Sajibu Nongma Panba - by coincidence or by chance or by lunar calendar – I don’t know. The Hindu
New Year is celebrated elsewhere also by different names.
In fact Chaitra Shukla Pratipada is on March 30, this year ; this marks the first day of the Hindu lunar calendar (Chaitra month) which typically falls in late March or early April. Across the subcontinent this day is celebrated as Varsha Pratipada, Nav Samvatsar, Gudi Padwa, Cheti Chand, Ugadi, Sajibu Nongma Panba Cheiraoba etc. It marks a new beginning for growth, development and prosperity.
Let us know the significance of Nagpur. This is the RSS headquarter, the only orange city, zero mile pillar is located here, Deekshabhoomi (Ambedkar’s) is here, National Academy of Direct Taxes is also located here. Many people may not know the fact that Nagpur is the Winter Capital of the State of Maharashtra. Winter session of the State Assembly is normally held in Nagpur.
And Nagpur Parliamentary Constituency is presently represented by Shri Nitin Jairam Gadkari, one of the most popular BJP leaders among the Opposition, next to Vajpayee. He was the BJP President once upon a time before the arrival of Bhais from Gujarat. He has been the Union Transport Minister for the last 11 years, perhaps the longest serving Transport Minister of the country.
Nagpur police has already declared Sangh Bldg Road, Mahal area as no-drone zone. No photography and videography is allowed. The RSS headquarters is located in a crowded and heavily populated area surrounded by houses, hotels, and coaching centers. 144 CrPC (don’t know the new name) is invoked in this area.
Big speculation about the much awaited direct meeting between the two saffron giants is that they will decide the next BJP president. For the last few months the entire parivar is on this issue – still unable to finalize. Because of that Nadda ji is getting extension after extension.
The Nation wants to know-who will be the next BJP president. Many speculations are being floated – Pradan may become the Chief or Yadav will be the choice or Joshi may win or a lady will emerge and so on and so forth.
One blurts that those whose names are in the National media and newspapers – their chances are less . The leader shall be appointed or rather elected from those who are not in the picture. We won’t be surprised to get a BJP president from a corner of the country – certainly from among the saffron family.
It has been the Nationwide experience that the Sangh people are shy types – but very headstrong. They don’t leave easily. Actually there has been a grappling going on between the BJP and Sangh about the appointment of the new BJP National president. Sangh leaders quite often say in public that election of BJP president is their internal matter – we don’t interfere in that.
However since the beginning of the Party ie, 6 April 1980, Sangh has been playing the crucial role of either selecting the president or endorsing the presidential candidate . From Vajpayee to Nadda the party president was directly or indirectly selected by the RSS. Perhaps this time too, Sangh may prevail.
Modiji with Mohanji may finalize the name of the BJP president and also might extend the retirement age of Parivar Service to octogenarians considering the ever increasing life expectancy and aged agility within the Sangh. This is purely my speculation. By the way both are running strong at 74.
