Shija Hospitals & Research Institute (SHRI) has been conferred the AHPI Healthcare Excellence Award 2025 for "Excellence in Quality (Beyond Accreditation)" .
In a release, SHRI general manager Santosh Shekhar informed that the award was presented during the Association of Healthcare Providers - India (AHPI) Global Conclave held at Hotel Le Meridien, Kochi, Kerala on Saturday and received by SHRI chairman and managing director Dr Palin Khundongbam and Joint MD Dr Chetan Khundongbam.
The award was presented by High Court of Kerala Justice Devan Ramachandran, AHPI director general Dr Giridhar Gyani, president & KIMS Healthcare Management Ltd chairman & MD Dr MI Sahadulla and Believers Church Medical College Hospital directoi & CEO Dr George Chandy Matteethra and Rajagiri Hospital, Kochi executive director father Johnson Vazhapilly.
The release further said that Shija Hospitals received this recognition after a rigorous evaluation of its quality management, leadership, governance, and patient safety initiatives. The hospital demonstrated excellence in clinical outcomes, structured staffing, risk management, training programmes, and digital transformation, including Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and telemedicine.
It also highlighted advancements in innovation, environmental sustainability, resource management, and ethical operations. In his address, Dr Palin stated that the award reaffirms Shija Hospitals' commitment to quality healthcare and its dedication to setting high benchmarks while continuously enhancing patient care.
"The award is dedicated to all the caregivers of Shija Hospitals and the people in the region who supported us. Shija remains dedicated to continuous improvement and affordable excellence in healthcare.
Quality is not an act, it s a culture," he said.
