Sarungbam Athouba clinched India a gold medal at the 2025 Asia Triathlon Cup and South Asian Championships hosted by Nepal in Pokhara.
Athouba won the gold medal in the South Asian category and was 9th in the Asian category.
He took overall 58 minutes and 15 seconds to finish on top in the South Asian category (10:19 in 750 m swimming; 30:25 in 20 km cycling and 16:26 in 5 km run) .
The championships that began yesterday will conclude on April 29 .
