Manipur were crowned overall team champions at the 25 th Sub-Junior Wushu Championship that concluded yesterday at KSR College of Engineering, Tiruchengode, Namakkal district in Tamil Nadu.
Manipur boys and girls amassed as many as 36 gold, 14 silver and 12 bronze medals to seal the overall team title at the championship that began on May 26 under the aegis of the Wushu Association of India.
State Taolu players enjoyed a lion's share of 50 medals including 30 gold, 11 silver and 9 bronze while 6 gold, 3 silver and 3 bronze medals were won by Sanda players.
The Sanda players who clinched gold medals at the championship are
🥇 Sarangthem Dinku (22 kg),
🥇 Laishram Bidyananda (28 kg),
🥇 Loitongbam Victor (48 kg),
🥇 Sairem Roshan (52 kg),
🥇 Heisnam Debajani (52 kg) and
🥇 Thokchom Valentina (60 kg).
🥈 Naorem Bikash (26 kg),
🥈 Kangjam Lanjenba (30 kg) and
🥈 Laishram Devinita (28 kg)
meanwhile won silver medals in the same event as
🥉 Thingnam Stallone (39 kg),
🥉 Khwairakpam Tharikta (36 kg) and
🥉 Gurumayum Premeshori (45 kg)
bagged bronze medals.
Meanwhile,
🥇 Khumukcham Hulison (Changquan and Gunshu),
🥇 Hanjabam Reinold (Nandao and Nangun),
🥇 Leitam Bikash (Taijiquan and Taijijian),
🥇 Koijam Tamphaton (Nandao and Nangun),
🥇 RK Lanchenbi (Changquan and Daoshu),
🥇 Gurumayum Deeparaj (Changquan and Daoshu),
🥇 Mayanglambam Mangal (Nanquan and Nandao),
🥇 Moirangthem Lanthoisana (Taijiquan and Taijijian),
🥇 Asem Milky (Changquan and Qiangshu),
🥇 Laishram Chanuthoi (Nanquan and Nandao)
won two gold medals in different Taolu competititions as
