World Environment Day 2025 Celebration at MTI-HUB, IT Park, Manipur

Theme: “Adopt a Tree Campaign – Dig In & Make a Difference: Join the Tree Drive”

The Manipur Technology Innovation Hub (MTI-HUB) celebrated World Environment Day 2025 today at IT Park, Mantripukhri, with the theme “Adopt a Tree Campaign – Dig In & Make a Difference: Join the Tree Drive.” The event was organized in collaboration with Cyber Corporation Manipur Limited (CCML) and with the Department of Botany, D.M. College of Science, Dhanamanjuri University as the Knowledge Partner.

The celebration saw the participation of around 80 individuals, including startup founders, students, faculty members, officials from CCML and the Department of Information Technology, Government of Manipur, as well as MTI-HUB team members.

As a key activity under the campaign, a tree plantation drive was carried out with the planting of 100 saplings of native and environment-friendly species at various locations across the IT Park campus. The initiative aimed to promote environmental awareness, urban greening, and long-term ecological responsibility among the youth and entrepreneurial community.

Participants from the Department of Botany, D.M. College of Science, including faculty and students, contributed their botanical knowledge and actively engaged in the plantation process. Startups incubated at MTI-HUB also joined the campaign, reinforcing their commitment to sustainable innovation and environmental stewardship.

The event served as a vibrant platform to reaffirm the role of innovation, education, and collective action in building a greener Manipur. As part of the "Adopt a Tree" campaign, participants pledged to care for the saplings they planted, fostering a culture of ownership and long-term ecological impact.

The program concluded with a vote of thanks expressing gratitude to all collaborators, knowledge partners, participants, and supporting departments who contributed to making the event a success.
