NSS Team Departs for National Integration Camp
The National Service Scheme (NSS) team from Manipur University, Canchipur, departs today to participate in the prestigious National Integration Camp (NIC) at Assam Agricultural University, Jorhat, Assam. The camp, scheduled from 21st to 27th January 2025, is organized by the Assam Agricultural University and aims to promote national unity, cultural diversity, and the spirit of service among India's youth.
Representing the state of Manipur, the contingent comprises 10 NSS volunteers drawn from Manipur University and its affiliated colleges, carefully selected from various NSS units. Dr. M. Macha Chaoreikanba, Assistant Professor in the Department of Dance and Music and Program Officer of NSS Unit-II, Manipur University, will lead the delegation as the designated Team Leader.
The National Integration Camp (NIC) serves as a vital platform to nurture a sense of patriotism, social harmony, and inclusivity among India's youth. Through interactive programs and activities, the camp aims to celebrate India's cultural richness, instill national pride, and encourage youth to contribute actively to the nation's progress.
In addition to the NIC delegation, a MYBharat NSS Volunteers team from Manipur University also departs today to participate as Special Guests at the Republic Day Parade 2025 in New Delhi on 26th January 2025. This significant initiative, spearheaded by MYBharat, under the aegis of the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, is designed to empower Indian youth by fostering social mobility, addressing educational disparities, and equipping them with practical life skills.
This dual representation of Manipur at two national events underscores the dynamic role of youth in shaping India's future. The efforts are being driven by the Dr. Laishram Santosh Singh, Programme Coordinator, NSS Cell of Manipur University, under the supervision of Prof. N. Lokendra Singh, Hon'ble Vice-Chancellor, in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India.
Earlier today, Prof. N. Lokendra Singh formally flags off the teams from the University's premises at 10:00 a.m., extending his heartfelt best wishes to the participants. He encouraged them to uphold the values of dedication and teamwork, making their participation impactful and meaningful.
Manipur University takes pride in its NSS units for consistently contributing to the national vision of unity and development through such endeavors.
