Mushroom Training Program at Yangdong Thounaojam
A Mushroom Training Program was successful held from 23 to 26 February 2025 at Yangdong Thounaojam Bazar. The program aimed to generate self-income opportunities and boost mushroom production in Manipur. The event was graced by the presence of several distinguished guests.
Mr. Waikhom Brojen Singh (Pradhan, Gram Panchayat) attended as the Chief Guest, while Mr. Elangbam Jugindro Singh as the president of the event. Mr Soram Rajendra Kumar (regional achievers’ awardee) served as the Resource Person, sharing valuable insights and techniques related to mushroom cultivation. Additionally, Mr. Waikhom Sanajaoba (secy. DYILARD) and Mr Elangbam Ibomcha (secy. Library DYILARD) participated as the Guest of Honour, encouraging participants to adopt innovative farming methods.
As part of the program, free mushroom spawn and basic materials necessary for mushroom cultivation were distributed among the participants to support their practical learning and future mushroom farming endeavours. Moreover, to sustain the momentum and foster collective growth, a Farmers' Club named Yangdong Farmers' Club was also formed at the conclusion of the training.
