Hon'ble Mr. Justice D. Krishnakumar, Chief Justice, High Court of Manipur distributing relief materials to the IDPs at Moirang Khunou Relief Camp
On May 15, 2025, Hon’ble Mr. Justice D. Krishnakumar, Chief Justice of the High Court of Manipur accompanied by Hon’ble Mr. Justice A. Bimol Singh, Judge, High Court of Manipur and Executive Chairman of MASLSA, and Hon’ble Mr. Justice A. Guneshwar Sharma, Judge, High Court of Manipur visited the MoirangKhunou Maning Leikai Relief Camp in Bishnupur District.
During the visit, Hon’ble the Chief Justice & Hon’ble Judges of the High Court interacted with the IDPs and distributed essential relief items. These includes Jumbo boxes, double folding mosquito nets, torch lights with lamps, diapers, buckets, mugs, infant milk, sanitary pads, soap, detergent, mosquito coils, as well as sports and recreational items such as footballs, volleyballs, skipping ropes, toys, and clothing and shoes for children.
A free medical camp was also organized for the relief camp residents, in collaboration with the Directorate of Health Services, Manipur, and the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of Bishnupur.
Mr. Justice A. Bimol Singh, Executive Chairman, MASLSA stated that members of the judicial fraternity in the State have been personally contributing and providing relief materials to Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) since 2023.
In a significant humanitarian initiative, Hon’ble Mr. Justice B.R. Gavai, Judge, Supreme Court of India along with companion Judges of the Supreme Court of India, visited Manipur on 22nd March 2025 and inaugurated a Mega Health Camp where free medical services were held in all the Relief Camps across the State. The Hon’ble Judges also visited Relief Camps in Churachandpur and Bishnupur, where they distributed essential relief materials.
As a continuation of this initiative, the distribution of relief items is currently being expanded to ensure coverage of all Relief Camps in Manipur. The visit was attended by several dignitaries and officials, including Shri Ojesh Mutum, Registrar General, High Court of Manipur; Shri Alek Muivah, Member Secretary, MASLSA; Shri N. Keertichand Singh, Chairperson, Bishnupur DLSA; Shri S. Brajabihari Singh, Chairman, Bar Council of Manipur; Shri Y. Nimolchand, President, High Court Bar Association of Manipur, Shri P. Tomcha Meitei, President, All Manipur Bar Association along with other officials.
From the district administration, Addl. Deputy Commissioner, Bishnupur; SDO, Moirang; CMO, Bishnupur participated, along with doctors and other officers.
