Chief Justice, High Court of Manipur at Konthoujam Relief Camp

The office of Manipur State Legal Services Authority (MASLSA) in association with Imphal West District Legal Services Authority & Directorate of Health Services, Govt. of Manipur organised a Promotional Legal Aid & Awareness Campaign cum Free Medical Camp at the Konthoujam Makha Khabam High School Relief Camp, Imphal West District on 13th May 2025.

As a part of the programme, a delegation led by Hon'ble Mr. Justice D. Krishnakumar, Chief Justice, High Court of Manipur along with Hon’ble Mr. Justice A. Bimol Singh, Judge, High Court of Manipur & Executive Chairman of MASLSA; Hon’ble Mr. Justice A. Guneshwar Sharma, Judge, High Court of Manipur visited the Relief Camp & distributed some relief materials to the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) staying at the Relief Camp. Further, in collaboration with the Directorate of Health Services, Manipur; CMO Office, Imphal West, the office of MASLSA organised a free medical camp where besides the general medical check-up, specific medical needs & medicines were provided to the identified inmates.

The visit was accompanied by Shri Ojesh Mutum Registrar General, High Court of Manipur; Shri Y. Rother, Chairman, Imphal West DLSA; Shri Alek Muivah, Member Secretary, MASLSA; Shri S. Brajabihari Singh, Chairman, Bar Council of Manipur, Shri P. Tomcha, President, All Manipur Bar Association; Smt. A. Tarunakumari Devi, Secretary, Imphal West DLSA and other officials.

Ms. Nivedita Lairenlakpam, Deputy Commissioner, Imphal West (in-charge); Dr. Maibam Rocky, District Nodal Officer (Relief), Imphal West along with officers/officials of District Administration, Imphal West & Doctors were also present in the programme.

Relief materials such as Jumbo box, Mosquito net (folding double), torch light with lamp, Diaper, Bucket, Mug, infant milk, Sanitary Pad, Soap, Detergent, mosquito coils, Sports Items such as Football, Volleyball, Skipping Ropes, toys for children, children’s clothes & shoes were distributed. Further, Hon’ble the Chief Justice also distributed Health Card to 7 beneficiaries.

Today’s visit is in continuation of the legal services & free medical camp being initiated by Hon’ble Mr. Justice B.R. Gavai, Judge, Supreme Court of India & Executive Chairman, NALSA during his visit to Manipur on 22nd March, 2025.

Mr. Justice A. Bimol Singh, Executive Chairman, MASLSA has expressed deep gratitude to Hon’ble Mr. Justice B.R. Gavai for providing funds for such promotional legal aid & awareness campaign specially for the inmates residing at the Relief Camp. He also stated that such promotional legal aid & awareness campaign will be carried out in all the remaining relief camps in the state of Manipur under the sponsorship of National Legal Services Authority (NALSA).
