In response to Meitei Leepul’s (ML) press statement dated 22nd September 2024, which appeared in local news and print media in Manipur, the Manipuri Meitei Association Bangalore (MMAB) acknowledges the concerns raised and reaffirms its unwavering commitment to transparency, constructive dialogue, and its long-standing service to the Meitei community and Manipur, which has been at the core of its mission for over 25 years.

We wish to clarify that MMAB has neither organized nor has any plans to organize any programs or events as referenced in the statement.

We understand the potential for misleading information being shared by vested interests seeking to divide the Meitei community and tarnish our reputation. However, we believe that through open dialogue and engagement, we can prevent misunderstandings, strengthen unity, and work together for the betterment of Ema Leibak Manipur. This will also allow us to address any concerns together and explore collaborative initiatives that could benefit the Meitei community and Manipur.

We are hopeful that ML’s leadership will come to recognize and appreciate MMAB’s activism.

MMAB assures its members, supporters, and allies worldwide that we will remain focused despite any misinformation or misrepresentations. Our priority continues to be the welfare and unity of the Meitei community, including advocating for constitutional rights, addressing legal rights, and supporting the development of Manipur.
