Thadou Inpi Manipur (TIM), the apex organization of the Thadou tribe, is deeply saddened at the passing of Pu Thangminlen Kipgen, a renowned leader, environmentalist, four-time MLA from 50-Kangpokpi (General) Assembly Constituency from 1995-2012 and also former Minister of State for Power and Minister for Horticulture & Soil Conservation in the Government of Manipur.

Pu Thangminlen Kipgen breathed his last on December 10, 2024 after prolonged illness, leaving behind a legacy of selfless service to the people and the environment.

Pu Thangminlen Kipgen was a pioneering environmentalist who worked tirelessly to promote sustainable development and conservation in Manipur. He banned deforestation and shifting cultivation in Haipi village, making it one of the cleanest villages in the hills of Manipur. His efforts to promote education and sports among the youth were equally commendable, and he founded the Major S. Pagin Kipgen Foundation Charitable Trust to support students in their academic pursuits.

TIM condoles the demise of Pu Thangminlen Kipgen and remembers his remarkable life and legacy. His passing is a tremendous loss for the Thadou community and Manipur as a whole. We extend our heartfelt condolences to Pu Thangminlen Kipgen's family, friends, and the entire Thadou community. May his legacy continue to inspire future generations.
