The Barbaric And Horrific Abduction And Killing Of Three Innocent Minor Children And Three Women In Jiribam District Of Manipur

The Shillong Manipuri Students’ Union (SMSU) is deeply concerned and grief about the recent killings in Jiribam, Manipur, where 2 years & 5 months old, 8 months old, and 8 years old innocent minor children and including three innocent women were abducted from Borobekra area, Relief Camp and brutally and inhumanely killed on 12 Nov 2024.

We strongly condemn such inhumane acts of killing innocent minors and women in barbaric and horrified manners.

We appeal to the Law Enforcement Authorities of both Centre and State Governments to ensure prompt and effective investigations and stringent measures are undertaken and takes every possible means to book the culprits involved with rigorous punishment at the earliest and provide justice.

The unfortunate situation clearly shows that the Law and Order in Manipur has completely failed. Hence, the Union demands a new confidence and constructive Government in the state of Manipur and restores the normalcy and peace in the state of Manipur.

The government of Manipur and the Central Government must truly define the responsibilities and concerns to firmly act in the best possible ways to ensure that the lives and property of the people of the state are safe and protected at any cost.
