Global Manipur Federation Condemns Rock Concert held on Patriots' Day (13th August 2024) and urges authorities to take appropriate action

The Global Manipur Federation vehemently condemns the recent concert event held at Khuman Lampak on Patriots' Day the 13th August, 2024, a day meant to honor the sacrifices of our forefathers and reflect on the spirit of patriotism. Instead of solemnity and respect, the event was marred by revelers who conducted themselves in an entirely inappropriate manner, dishonoring the significance of the day.

It is deeply disheartening to witness such a blatant disregard for the values and traditions that Patriots' Day represents. The organizers of this event failed in their duty to ensure that the occasion was observed with the dignity and reverence it deserves. The choice to host a concert on such a solemn day, coupled with the inappropriate behavior exhibited, is a clear insult to the memory of those who sacrificed their lives for our land.

We call upon all event organizers, cultural bodies, and the general public to be more mindful of the significance of national days. Such events should be planned and conducted with the utmost respect, reflecting the true spirit of patriotism and honor.
