Charity Program at Urup OBC Girls Hostel Relief Camp

As a part of Annual Charity Program of Nouwa Marup, Pune, family members of Nouwa Marup visited the Urup OBC Girls Hostel Relief Camp, Urup on 10th Dec 2024 and interacted with the inmates of the camp. The camp houses 170+ individuals including women, kids and elderly people. Most of the families are from Moreh, Pombikhok, Churchanpur and include around 68+ kids under the age of 18 years.

Relief materials like books, pens, etc along with eatables were distributed to the inmates of the camp. Mr Suraj Nepram spearheaded the visit along with other executives members, Mrs Tejbala and Ms Aarohi. Mr Suraj interacted with the students and mention about the importance of continuous education even during such a crisis and entrust that every possible support from Nouwa Marup will be provided as and whenever required.

Laishram Sunildro Singh, Volunteer in-charge of the Camp, express his overwhelming joy for the care and support from the Meetei families staying out of the state. He also express that during such critical times, they are looking forward for support from the Government as well as the diaspora groups staying outside the state.

Ms Tejbala highlighted about the various educational opportunities of the central government available for continuing education in other part of the country for the affected students. Inmates shared their sorrows and mental trauma caused by this prolonged crisis and requested for the swift action from the state and central governments in bringing the normalcy in the state. They further emphasis for return to their respective homes and a peaceful coexistence amongst all community in the state.

Nouwa Marup, Pune was established in 2018 with families of Manipuri origin staying in and around Pune. The sole aim of the Nouwa Marup is to encourage and cultivate the aged old traditions and cultures into the young mind of the kids of Manipuri families staying far away from their hometown.

With the aim of creating an equal platform for all the kids, Nouwa Marup regularly organizes various social related activities throughout the year, where the young minds of Nouwa Marup interact with differently able, un-previleged kids to understand the importance of ones life. Nouwa Marup has its headquarter in Pune, Maharashtra and a branch in Imphal, Manipur.
