BJP, Manipur Pradesh submitted memorandum to Her Excellency, the President of India, through His Excellency, the Governor of Manipur in the matter of the problem arising out of the economic blockade called by Sadar Hills District Demand Committee and the counter blockade by UNC along the National Highways of the State.

Shri Sh. Shantikumar Sharma, President, BJP, Manipur Pradesh along with Shri S.Tikendra Singh, State VP, S.Lala Singh, State VP, Th.Shyamo Singh, State General Secretary, Shri Kh. Radhakiswor,State General Secretary meet Governor, Manipur on today at Raj Bhawan around 11:30 am. Text of the memorandum is as follows-

The State of Manipur has been passing through very very hard days since 1st. of August, 2011 due to economic blockade called by Sadar Hills Districthood Demand Committee and the Counter blockade called by United Naga Council (UNC) protesting against the creation of Sadar Hills District.

The essential commodities, the petroleum products and life saving drungs are not adequately available in the state. The State Government fails to face the situation and dealing the issue half- heartedly and leaves the problems solve by itself. Any unwanted event may happen anytime, anywhere in the state. It becomes alarming everywhere in the state.

Hence, the State Unit, BJP and the people of Manipur demands-

1) The essential commodities as well as petroleum products be made available with sufficient quantity.
2) Close down the Black Marketting, arrest the stockists & black marketers of petroleum products and punish them as per law.
3) Special subsidy/suffering subsidy of Rs. 5000/- per month be given to each family of the State to compansate the lost during economic blockade till call off the blockade. 4) Bring amicable solution regarding Sadar Hills issue at the earliest.
