About the Project: The Manipur Community Access Network (CAN) Project aims to establish a resilient community internet infrastructure in conflict-affected zones of Manipur, India. The project focuses on enhancing internet access, empowering communities, promoting inclusivity, and supporting humanitarian efforts.
Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Project Coordinator to join our team in implementing the Manipur Community Access Network (CAN) Project. The Project Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating project activities, ensuring timely implementation, and maintaining effective communication with stakeholders. This role will be based in Churachandpur and Bishnupur, Manipur.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Project Coordination:
o Coordinate and manage project activities, including needs assessments, stakeholder engagement, infrastructure deployment, capacity building, and outreach campaigns.
o Ensure that project objectives are met within the specified timeframe and budget
2. Stakeholder Engagement:
o Engage with local humanitarian groups, community leaders, and other stakeholders to identify specific internet access gaps and build support for the project.
o Foster strong relationships with community members, local authorities, and other relevant stakeholders
3. Capacity Building and Training:
o Assist in organizing and conducting training sessions on basic networking, internet skills, digital services delivery, and online safety for local project teams and community members.
o Ensure that training programs are effective and meet the needs of the community
4. Outreach and Awareness:
o Plan and execute outreach and awareness campaigns to promote the Community Network facility through community events, information sessions, and other appropriate channels.
o Increase awareness and engagement among the affected population regarding the benefits and usage of the community network
5. Monitoring and Evaluation:
o Assist in establishing regular review and monitoring mechanisms to track the impact of internet access on humanitarian works.
o Contribute to the preparation of monitoring and evaluation reports
6. Sustainability Planning:
o Support the development of plans for long-term maintenance, funding, and community ownership of internet infrastructure.
o Ensure that sustainability plans are integrated into project activities and are aligned with community needs
7. Reporting and Documentation:
o Prepare and submit regular project reports, updates, and other documentation as required.
o Maintain accurate records of project activities, progress, and challenges
8. Logistics and Administration:
o Manage logistics for project activities, including arranging meetings, workshops, and other events.
o Assist in administrative tasks such as budget management, procurement, and other operational aspects of the project
Qualifications:
o Education: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Project Management, Social Sciences, Information Technology, or a related field.
o Experience: At least 3 years of experience in project coordination, preferably in a humanitarian or community development context.
o Skills:
o Strong project management and coordination skills.
o Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
o Ability to work in a team and build strong relationships with stakeholders.
o Proficiency in local languages (Manipuri) and English.
o Basic understanding of internet infrastructure and digital literacy.
o Experience with community engagement, training, and capacity building.
o Ability to work in challenging environments and adapt to changing situations.
Preferred Qualifications:
o Local Knowledge: Familiarity with the local context and communities in Churachandpur and Bishnupur.
o Technical Skills: Basic knowledge of networking and internet services.
o Certifications: Project management certifications (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) or relevant training in humanitarian response.
