About Us:

CSDD is dedicated to advancing digital connectivity and community empowerment in Assam and North East India Region. We are seeking enthusiastic networking professionals to assist in implementing and managing networking solutions across the region for remote internet and digital access and services.

Job Overview:

We are looking for a Junior Network Engineer with a solid foundation in IP networking. The ideal candidate will have experience in basic routing and switching, and will assist in network infrastructure deployment, operations, and support of community-based digital and networking initiatives. Familiarity with community networks is a plus.

Key Responsibilities:

- Network Implementation & Support:
- Assist in deploying and maintaining network infrastructures, including wireless and wired networks.
- Configure and manage basic network devices under supervision.
- Help troubleshoot common networking issues and routing protocols.

- Project Assistance:
- Support senior team members in network project execution.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand networking needs.
- Help ensure timely completion of project tasks.

- Network Maintenance:
- Monitor network performance and report on efficiency and reliability.
- Provide basic technical support to team members and community users.
- Assist in implementing security measures, including firewalls and access controls.

- Documentation:
- Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations and changes.
- Assist in preparing network performance reports and project status updates.

Technical Skills:

- Basic proficiency in configuring Mikrotik routers.
- Familiarity with managed switches and VLAN setup.
- Understanding of IP addressing and subnetting.
- Basic knowledge of network monitoring tools.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 2-3 years of experience in network support or related IT roles.
- Good understanding of IP networking fundamentals.
- Experience in assisting with network projects.
- Strong problem-solving skills and eagerness to learn.
- Good communication skills and ability to work in a team.

Preferred:

- Interest in community-focused projects or NGOs.
- Awareness of local networking challenges in Assam, Manipur and North East India.
