Churachandpur in Manipur is making remarkable strides in providing safe drinking water under the Central Government’s Jal Jeevan Mission.
Out of 430 projects, 286 have been successfully completed, while 108 are nearing final completion.
Additionally, supported by funding from the New Development Bank (NDB), 51 single-village schemes and one multi-village scheme are actively underway, further enhancing water access in the region.

(Transcription) Under Jal Jeevan Mission, we have 430 schemes that is funded under the Ministry of Jal Shakti funding. And then we also have 51 schemes under New Development Bank (NDB) funding. The first one that is under JJM, out of the 430 schemes, most of the works have been completed.
A large number of households in villages across Churachandpur are now having functional tap connections. Where villagers once walked miles for water, children and women now wash clothes and collect water at their doorsteps.

(Transcription) Since when the rainy season, all the waters are dirty, we cannot drink on that time. But, after producring of this JJM scheme, we get, every time, pure water. I am very happy to the government.

(Transcription ) My knowledge is, it is very benefit to the villagers, to the people, to the community. Having such type of water JJM schemes to the village. If it is possible, if it can be implemented in each and every house, village of our district.
The authorities are actively working to provide safe drinking water to every household in rural Manipur, with the project progressing intensively.
