TRIAL AND DEATH OF TIKENDRAJIT AND THANGAL GENERAL |
Before the fall of the government
the Regent, Tikendrajit and other leaders went underground. General Collet announced
the occupation of Manipur by the British and ordered the people
of Manipur to surrender all arms and ammunition to the British. On 13th
of April 1891, the British Government issued a proclamation offering rewards for the
capturing of the following persons |

Niranjan
subidar was arrested, Thangal General surrendered. The Maharaja was captured on the 8th
May 1891. Angousana and Zilla Singh captured. Tikendrajit was arrested in the evening of
Saturday 23rd May. |
