Pebet amasung Kei

Once upon a time in a jungle, a group of birds were having a discussion over the selection of their king.

The Vulture said he was the strongest so he should be the king on which the Pebet said, "I am the wise one, I should be the king, a foolish one like you cannot become the King".

The Vulture became furious on Pebet's words so he tried to kill him. When the Pebet was about to get caught, she flew towards the Shaneibi (strong bamboos).

The Vulture forgetting his size flew towards the bamboos, hits himself on the head and died.

Following Vulture's dead, Pebet became the king of the jungle and his family was living a good life.

Unfortunately, a Tiger used to pass by Pebet's house frequently.

One day the Pebet's family saw the Tiger coming towards their home from far away.

The wife was frightened by the sight of the Tiger, on which Pebet calms her down and he made a plan. Pebet begins to explain his plan to her.

When the tiger approached towards their house, the wife pinched their children and made them cry.

Pebet sitting on the top of the net, cried out, "What happen to the children, don't make them cry. I cannot concentrate on my studies".

The wife said, "What should I do, they want to eat tiger at this odd hour".

He advice her to give them some dried tiger meats that they have stored, but the children wanted only fresh tiger. So, Pebet told his wife to inform him if any tiger comes in sight nearby.

All this while, the Tiger was listening to the conversation between the two. He assumed that the Pebet cannot be a normal Pebet and fearing that he would be killed, he ran away for his life.

Pebet's intelligence saved him and his family from the tiger and they lived happily ever after.
