A friendly football Tournament was organised jointly by MSWAB (Manipur Sports & Welfare Association Bangalore) and AMFIMPA (All Manipur Film Makers and Producers Association) on the theme "Say no to drugs and yes to health" at play arena, Sarjapura road on May 18, 2014.

It was an important day for the Manipuris as it was a milestone in the history of Manipur wherein a team of 42 members of the Manipur Film Fraternity have come outside Manipur for a social awareness which was live telecast from Bangalore through a Manipur popular channel, ISTV network.
The success behind this event was the relentless effort put by MSWAB, an organisation formed by Manipuris based in Bangalore working for the common good of the Manipur community. It gives opportunity for people to bring solidarity through sports and cultural programmes.

Manipur, a small state of India with rich culture and heritage is a powerhouse of sportsperson and has produced eminent players of global repute and has made our nation proud. Inspite of being small, Manipur is extraordinary in sports with lots of talented youths. But the youths of today donot utilise their potentials and are vulnerable to drugs which hinders the development of sports and the health of the society.
This Sports event is an awakening call for the youths who are the backbone of the future to adopt a healthy life, inspires and promotes active participation in sports and contribute to the progress of the society.

The event started with a mellifluous 'Pena' invocation, a traditional ancient musical instrument played by a well-known Director and Producer of Manipur Film Industry, Romi Meitei and his children, Vanesha and Chaoren. The huge gathering was welcomed by the chief guest, Dr L Mani (Retired Director of sports Authority of India).
Four interesting Football matches were played and the overwhelming audiences excited to see their stars playing cheered the players and their supporting teams.
The initiative taken by MSWAB and AMFIMPA on the theme "Say No to Drugs and Yes to Health" is a small step but it will definitely bring a huge positive impact in the development of sports and especially in the life of the youths .

The event finally concluded with a 'thabal chongba' and a short entertainment programme by Hamom Sadananda, a famous Actor and singer of Manipur Film, who mesmerised the audience with his everlasting hit songs.
The event was a grand success with overwhelming response and we are looking forward to organise more such events for a good cause, to foster and contribute our best for 'A healthy, better and a peaceful society'.
