Kohima, Nov 17 (NEPS): Two Officials and six players from Manipur will join the 34-member strong Indian Muaythai Team to the upcoming World Muaythai Championship to be held from November 27 to December 5, 2007 at Bangkok.
They are Mr O Manglemjao (Senior International Referee), Mr L Thoiba Singh (Referee), Mr S Ningtamba (Player), Mr L Suraj (Player), Mr L Nishikanta (Player), Mr Chingshanglakpa Kakyenpaibum (Player), Mr I Chakhangamba (Player) and Mr G Marempu Kabui (Player).
This upcoming World Muaythai Championship will be one of the biggest Muaythai Tournaments to be ever staged on earth with 116 countries confirming their participation and still more countries are coming.
Around 3000 players including officials will be taking part in this giant International Muaythai Championship with leaders from International Olympic Committee (IOC), General Association of International Sports Federation (GAISF), Olympic Council of Asia (OCA), also attending it.
The opening and closing functions will at different locations, and on the 5th December all will have the honor to be part of
His majesty, the King’s birthday celebrations at Sanam Luang in front of the Grand Palace with millions of Thai people celebrating His Majesty’s birthday and the IFMA grand finals and WMC gala.
