Though Jeakson hailed from a poor family, his parents especially his father did his best to encourage and supply his needs as a football player.
From his childhood days, Jeakson was crazy after football. He played football before and after school. His craze for football was such that even when his family couldn’t provide him with a football, he used to make a ball by filling pieces of jute bags into a polythene bag and bind it with a thread and play with it.
Staying at Chandigarh Football Academy from 2010 to 2015, and playing for Chandigarh’s Minerva Club as a loan player, he took part in the Under-16 Indian League. After seeing the terrific performance of the players of Minerva Club, the Indian officials staged a friendly match between the Club and India Under-16 team.
Jeakson was also selected for that match after seeing his great perfosrmance. In 2015, Jeakson’s father suffered from BP stroke and was bed-ridden.
His mother took up the initiative to send money and supply the needs for the two sons who were training outside Manipur. His parents and the whole of Manipur had high hopes from him in the Under-17 FIFA World Cup.
