Due to lack of Funds the Athlete is losing out on Training Time : Sumanta Naoremo

Sumanta Naorem, a 19 years old bodybuilder from Manipur is aiming to participate in IBBF Mr. India (Men's Physique) Competition to be held in 2018. But, due to lack of funds, the Manipur-born athlete is losing out on training time. To fulfill his dream, the athlete now turned to crowdfunding campaign, Ketto, to afford his training requirements. The campaign was launched on 15 September 2017 and will run for 1 month with a target of Rs 250000. The campaign titled "Training needs for Amateur Physique Athlete".

In our state, there are many stories of sportspersons struggling with their career due to lack of funds and sponsors. Due to this, most of the athletes were forced to sacrifice his/her career. Even after winning various competitions, many athletes have to end their career due to lack of fund. Most of the well known athletes were not really known until they represent for the country. As they get support only after their success. But the fact is people need to support and encourage before they achieve something.

Among various athletes, a bodybuilder is one of the most difficult and tiring activity. It requires lots of hard working with the training, diet, supplementation, etc for months. For a bodybuilder it is very important to maintain its diet and training to make a perfect body. According to Sumanta Naorem, he needs around 50,000 a month to fulfill his needs of diet and training. But this amount is quite high to afford by his family as his father is a butcher and the only one to earn in the family.

Sumanta Naorem is 19 years old pursuing B.Sc 5th semester at Manipur College. He is from Kakwa Huidrom Leikai living with his parents and two siblings. His father is a butcher and from that income they run the whole family. The family always supports Sumanta and tried their best to fulfill his dream. But this time it's hard for them to continue supporting Sumanta and to let them continue with his dream. So Sumanta and his family decided to take support from people and run a fundraising campaign.
