Bacardi NH7 Weekender 2018 back in Meghalaya this Friday
The festival hosts its fourth edition in the North East, with a stellar lineup featuring top musicians from across the world and country, at The Festive Hills
Bacardi NH7 Weekender returns for its fourth edition in the North East this Friday & Saturday (2 and 3 Nov) at the same venue as last year, Wenfield, The Festive Hills, Thadlaskein, Lad Mukhla, Jaintia Hills. The festival which began in 2010 in Pune, has grown to be one of the countrys most-loved and anticipated musical events, brought together by Bacardi and organizer Only Much Louders promise to create experiences that bring exciting new musical talent to fans in India.
The Meghalaya edition of the festival will see the Finnish alternative rock band Poets of the Fall, alternative rock band Switchfoot, guitar virtuoso Guthrie Govan, Tel-Aviv based alternative rock act Tiny Fingers, composer Shankar Mahadevan with his collective: My Country, My Music, rock group Zero, bass phenomenon Mohini Dey, rock electronica band Pentagram and Carnatic classical musician TM Krishna, perform alongside acts from the North East including Summersalt, Dew drops, Dossers Urge, Sky Level, adL x k.ly & The Other Soul Collective and Tipriti Kharbangar & the Clansmen from Meghalaya, Rain in Sahara from Assam, The Twin Effect and Avancer from Nagaland, Minutes of Decay from Manipur as well as Takar Nabam Trio and The Vinyl Records from Arunachal Pradesh. The Meghalaya edition will also see electronic acts including Dualist Inquiry, Ritviz and Sandunes Live.
The festival stages, Bacardi Arena (for headliners, rock and metal), The Doers Club (folk and fusion), Breezer Vivid Shuffle (electronic and hip-hop) and Insider.in Other Stage (alternative and upcoming acts), will have simultaneous performances and fans can access all stages with their festival wristband.
Thats not it - You can also browse a bustling bazaar, an assortment of food stalls and a variety of different activities by the sponsor brands - including an exciting offroading zone by Thar, and a fun zone with games and snacks with Too Yumm. The festival is supporting many initiatives, including the Paper Bridge Project, that aims to build libraries in the remotest corners of India, so donate a book for a good cause when you come over to the happiest music festival!
Continuing the green initiative the festival successfully launched in Pune 2 years ago, Bacardi NH7 Weekender is using a responsible waste management system in Meghalaya as well. The festivals aim to ensure minimum waste is generated and the bulk of it is sent for recycling. Fans are urged to follow instructions at the time of disposing waste to aid the efforts of the festival team. An exciting new initiative this time is the glass reuse policy to encourage fans to reuse their beverage cups - people will get discounts at the bar on reusing their cups for refills. Plastic straws have been banned at the festival and now replaced with paper straws. The food stalls will also all serve food with compostable cutlery.
Supreet Kaur, Festival Director says, We look forward to coming back to the North East every year and push our boundaries to bring the best possible festival experience here. Our attempt has always been to encourage and support local talent form this region across performances, art installations, food and merchandise. The Meghalaya edition of the festival is truly special to us, and one which were especially proud of.
Tickets to the festival can be purchased at https://insider.in/bacardi-nh7-weekender-meghalaya-2018/event and at the box-office on both days of the festival, which will remain open until 6pm on both days, so fans are urged to buy tickets and redeem their wristbands in time. Festival gates close at 8pm for entry OR re-entry so fans should get inside the venue before that!
On ground ticket prices are as follows:
General season ticket- Rs. 3,500
Under 21 season ticket - Rs. 1,500
Day 1 ticket (Friday) - Rs. 2,500
Day 2 ticket (Saturday)- Rs. 2,000
To make travel to the venue convenient for fans, the festival is offering shuttle services Shillong to the venue, and back. Pick-ups originate at SRGT Bus Stop, Near Jawaharlal Nehru Football Stadium, Shillong. Fans can choose from two routes for their return journey to Shillong via Police Bazaar and SRGT Parking Lot respectively.
