A good foundation today will ensure great leaders in the future. Even today students have a big role to play in the society. They are held in high esteem by the society.
A lot of good things are expected of us. unfortunately for most of the part we are unable to live up to the expectation. We fall short of fulfilling our duties as a student as well as a resposible citizen.
Students are the youthful population of the society. Their enrgy and enthusiam is a great asset to the society. This youthful energy if channeled properly can bring positive changes in the society student include everyone from kinder garten kids to research scholars.
Kindergarten and primary student can not take much active participation in various social causes but they can and should be made aWar^of it. As students we have a lot of leisure time in our hands. We can use our time fruitfully by involving ourselves in important social issues and actively Taking part in it.
An important issue which is facing our society today is the rapid degradation of our envoronment. The degradation of the environment is a direct consequence of man's thoughtless actions.
The natural surrounding in which we live is our environment. The mountion, plants, trees, rivers and the wild life in it all contitute the environment. Manipur is a state rich in flora and fauna. It is blessed with great natural beauty but today because of our indifference towards environmant, we are seeing a drop in its quatity.
Mass deforestation, burning of forest, hunting and poaching, use of chimicals in rivers while if shing, unsafe disposal of garbage, improper drainage system etc, are some of the environment issues facing our society today.
Students have a big role to play in saving the environment. We can be an example to the society by leading the charge in raising and spreading awareness about these practices, which is harming our environment.
We should actively lend our support to various organizations and associations whose sole purpose is to protect the environment and its wild life through our associations with such groups we are strengthening their noble causes, we as students are the real forces behend every initiative by these organizations or the Government for the protection of the environment.
We play a pivotal role in supplementing the efforts of the Government to conserve Environment and maintain ecological balance. We should pass on the information regarding environment protection like judicious use of energy and water, better disposal of garbage, protecting wtld life and so no, to our family and friends.
We should also try and attenf)seminars and workshops on environmental issues as it broadens our knowledge about its nature importance and presevation.
Lastly, here are some suggestions which we should follow and contribute a little to save the environment. We must love our environment and care for it then only we can adopt practices, which can save our environment and to tackle this problem we should avoid traveling by cars to short distances, use smoke filters in cars, keep natural free from pollutants and chemicals like plastics, bottles.
Pesticides and fertilizers, turn off the lights, computers and TVs when not in use, plant more trees wherever possible, use our resources judiciously, being kind and gentle to animals etc.
All these small deeds will go a long way in preserving the environment. "Reduce, reuse, recycle (R3) should our motto so that our environemnt can be preserved for the future generation.
