II. Organizing the data gathered into a structure format for digitalizing and keying in
Manipur University Centre, Canchipur
(Parent Institute)
The information was collected by consulting with village elders and herbal practitioner who has knowledge of using local plants and animals. All the species recorded were categorized as per their uses viz., medicinal, food, fiber and others. Two hundred fifty eight (258) medicinal plants, fifty (50) edible and medicinal fungi and sixty three (63) edible insects were entered into structured database format.
Collaborating Institutes
D.M. College of Science Centre, Imphal
The number of plant species entered into the database was 1216. The number of insect species entered into the database was 16 whereas the number of fish species entered into the database was 280.
Gauhati University Centre, Guwahati
The number of plant species entered into the database was 412 whereas 66, insect species were entered into the database for Assam state. The total number of plants entered into the database was 238 whereas the number of insects entered into database was 35 for Meghalaya state.
Nagaland University Centre, Lumami

Tripura University Centre, Agartala
A total of 220 plant resources were documented whereas a total of 12 animals were documented from the local markets.
III. Development of suitable inputting and outputting systems and keying in of data
Manipur University Centre, Canchipur
(Parent Institute)
The format for collecting ethno data on bioresources were employed by all participating centre.
The utility pattern of plants and animals were studied on the traditional uses by different tribes of Manipur through the questionnaire developed. All the species recorded were categorized as medicinal, food, fiber and others.
Collaborating Institutes
D.M. College of Science Centre, Imphal
The ethnobiological data were collected from Imphal East, Imphal West and Churachandpur districts of Manipur with the help of questionnaire include local healers and village elderly persons.
Gauhati University Centre, Guwahati
The ethnobiological data of 412 plants and 66 insects were collected and entered into the structured format for the state of Assam. The ethnobiological data of 238 plants and 35 insects were collected and entered into the structured format for the state of Meghalaya.
Nagaland University Centre, Lumami
The ethnobiological data of 156 plants and 41 insect species were collected and entered into the structured format.
Tripura University Centre, Agartala
The ethnobiological data collected from the field survey revealed 50 plants as medicinal, 18 plants as food and 7 plants for miscellaneous uses. Whereas 12 animal resources including insects were used by the indigenous people as their food.
IV. Linking with other database of the Country (Including with that of Part A of the project)

The finding of the coordinated project is not up to our expectation because of the insincere involvement of some of the participating Institutes.
However, it was out first attempt from the North Eastern India. Hence, it needs appreciation for the trouble undertaken by the concerned investigator.
