An Amur falcon (Falco amurensis) flying through its migratory route passing Myanmar and Mizoram for Tamenglong has been rescued in between Thinungei village and Ningthoukhong.
It is an international bird touching the shores of three continents- Asia, Africa and Europe. Biometric measurement has been done keeping ethics of Wildlife conservation. It will be released soon to its natural route .
Indeed a great moment for us to rescue and save this precious species from a boy on the eve of DIWALI and birth day of my son with Y. Naba and Laishram Gopen Laishram.
The species is under weight and trying to feed termites, insects etc to gain its normal weight.
It is great to see that the small raptor is enjoying the food items happily.
So strange to me as it happen soon after receiving an invitation from the Rainforest Club Tamenglong to give a lecture on Amur falcon at the Amur falcon Festival as a special guest.
