3 Day Workshop on IYQ Kicks Off at MU Physics Department

In connection with the United Nations declaration of the year 2025 as the International Year of Quantum Science and Technology (IYQ) to mark the ‘100 years of Quantum Mechanics’ since the start of the ‘New Quantum Theory’ in 1925, the Research Institute of Science and Technology(RIST), Manipur University Complex, Imphal in collaboration with the Manipur Association of Science & Technology Council (MASTEC), Takyelpat, Imphal under the sponsorship of the State Bank of India has kicked off a 3 Day Workshop (21-23 Feb 2025) on International Year of Quantum Science & Technology from this day the 21st Feb 2025 at Manipur University.

The Inaugural function held at the Conference Hall of Physics Department Manipur University was attended by the Secretary (Science and Technology), Government of Manipur Kengoo Zuringla, IAS as the Chief Guest, Head of the Department of Physics Professor A Dilip Kumar Singh and Dean of Research & Development Cell, Lucknow University Professor Murli Manohar Verma as the Guests of Honour. Professor at Physics Department MU & Chairman of the Organising Committee Prof. N. Nimai Singh presided over the inaugural session.

Eminent retired Professors of Manipur University viz Professor C. Amuba Singh, Prof. Th. Jekendra Singh, Prof. N. Rajmuhon Singh and Prof. Sh. Dorendrajit Singh and retired Associate Professor of Imphal College S. Subhashchandra Singh presented their papers on the technical sessions of the first day.

Poster Presentations for the Research Scholars, Interaction with the eminent scientists from across the Globe and workshop sessions by eminent Physicists will be the main attraction of the 2nd and the 3rd Day of the 3 Day Workshop.
