MaolKeki Foundation (MKF) and IMA Foundation successfully partnered to organise an art competition with the theme ‘Healing with Art’.
The competition took place at three different relief camps on Sunday, 1st June 2025, bringing together children and youth to express their emotions, stories, and dreams through the power of art. It is a step towards healing, hope, and creative resilience in communities that have survived the atrocities of the ongoing conflict in Manipur.
‘Healing with Art’ is more than a competition, it is building life back one step at a time.
Over 110 children participated in the competition at three relief camps namely, Mukta High School Relief Camp in Bishnupur District, Mekola Relief Camp in Imphal West District, and Kakching Indoor Stadium Relief Camp in Kakching District. Each participant was given a set of colouring items including oil pastel of different quantities, pencils, drawing paper and eraser.

Notebooks, additional pencils, geometry boxes and sanitary pads were also distributed amongst the children. From the competition, 21 children will be selected and provided a month-long mentoring by IMA Foundation.
Following this, their art will be auctioned to raise funds to support Internally Displaced Persons in Manipur.
Shri Radha Binod Sharma, the London-based founder of IMA Foundation, said on the occasion, “colour with creativity and positivity can powerfully generate energy. I am very excited to be part of this initiative and look forward to reviewing the paintings and mentoring the children in the coming weeks.”
We are also grateful for the kind support from Camel and Roy Fine Art, as well as the MaolKeki Foundation team, the staff at the relief camps and the many volunteers who made this competition possible.
