Hackathon on Emerging Technologies with Emphasis on AI, AR, and VR concluded
The Hackathon on Emerging Technologies, emphasizing AI, AR, and VR, was successfully held today at STPI Octane COE, MIMS Building. The event was jointly organized by Software Technology Parks of India (STPI), Imphal, Manipur Technology Innovation Hub (MTI-HUB), and Manipur University, bringing together young innovators to develop groundbreaking solutions for real-world challenges.
The event commenced with an inaugural session attended by jury members and participants, setting the stage for an intense and inspiring competition.
Distinguished guests included
o Prof. Laishram Prabhakar Singh, Director, MIMS, Manipur University,
o Dr. Ch. Ibohal Meitei, Research & Development Cell, Manipur University,
o o Shri. Heigrujam Arun Kumar Singh, Addl. Director & OIC, STPI, Imphal,
o Dr. Rajiv Kangabam, Lead, MTIHUB, Imphal and
o Dr Sorokhaibam Keshorjit Singh, MIMS Manipur University.
A total of 15 teams from various institutions participated, addressing diverse problem statements through AI, AR, and VR technologies. After thorough evaluation by the jury members, the top three teams were recognized for their outstanding ideas and execution.
o 1st Prize: Team from NIT Manipur – Khumanthem Lanthoiba Meitei, Maimom Albert, and Wahengbam Nirvash Singh – for their Resilience System for Manipur project.
o 2nd Prize: Team from IIIT Manipur – Vishal Srinivasan, Sanchit Bishnoi, and Harsh Vardhan – for their AI-Based Plant Disease Detection and Precision Farming System for Manipur’s Farmers.
o 3rd Prize: Another team from NIT Manipur – Saidul Hussain, Santosh Singh, and Shivam Kumar Verma – for their AR Navigation in Complex Buildings project.
The program concluded with a valedictory session, where winners were honored for their exceptional contributions. The organizers expressed heartfelt gratitude to all participants, jury members, and sponsors
for making the event a grand success.
This hackathon served as a catalyst for young innovators to push the boundaries of emerging technologies, fostering a culture of research, development, and problem-solving that will benefit Manipur’s technological landscape and beyond.
