In his keynote address, Dr. Nanaocha Sharma emphasized the significance of plant tissue culture in bioresource conservation and sustainable development, particularly in the biodiversity-rich Northeastern region of India. He outlined IBSD's ongoing research initiatives and their relevance to regional development.
Chief Guest Dr. Anupam Mishra delivered an inspiring speech focusing on the applications of plant tissue culture techniques in modern agricultural practices and conservation efforts. He commended IBSD for organizing specialized training programs that bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical skills.
The training program has attracted participants from various research institutions and organizations across the North Eastern region, reflecting the growing importance of plant tissue culture techniques in research and development.
Dr. N. Samarjit Singh, Senior Technical Officer (2) at BRIC-IBSD, Imphal and Organizing Secretary of the program, proposed the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all dignitaries, faculty members, and participants.
Over the next five days, participants will receive hands-on training in various aspects of plant tissue culture, including media preparation, aseptic culture establishment, micropropagation, somatic embryogenesis, and acclimatization protocols.
The training program is expected to contribute significantly to capacity building in biotechnology and promote research in plant conservation and sustainable utilization of bioresources in the region.
