IIIT Manipur students participate in ‘Vision for Vikshit Bharat (VIVIBHA) 2024' in Gurgaon
The Bharatiya Shikshan Mandal(BSM) is organising three day National Education, Research & Technology Conclave as Vision for Vikshit Bharat (VIVIBHA) from 15th - 17th November 2024 at SGT University, Gurgaon, Haryana where IIIT Manipur students and faculty are participating. Approximately, 145 organizations were participating including different premier institutes like IITs, IIITs, NITs, Air Force, Army Force, Navy, ISRO, DRDO etc. showcasing their products. In the three day event approximately 20 thousand visitors hit the stalls.
The VIVBHA 2024 was inaugurated by Shri Mohan Bhagwat, RSS Sarsanghchalak in the presence of ISRO Chairman Shri S Somanath. Shri Mohan Bhagwat interacted with Prof Krishnan Baskar, Director- IIIT Manipur, faculty and other students of the Institution. Baba Ramdev also had a brief visit for a lecture to the event.
Director IIIT Manipur apprised Shri Mohan Bhagwat about the development of the institution and informed that the institution has raised revenue from 3.2 crores to 18 crores, students strength from 208 to 757 and girl students just 03 to 98 within two years & eight months since Prof. Krishnan taking over in February 2022.
‘We have completed Convocations for all graduated students since 2019 without any backlog, in fact, last year we conducted convocation within three working days of completion of end semester examinations with Governor of Manipur as our Chief Guest’, Prof Krishnan stated. Also, the Director presented the Sangai Momento with Manipuri Lengyan donning the IIITM logo and Kanglasha.
He informed that the institution is working hard to make ‘IIIT Manipur’ one of the best in the country and encouraging students from the Northeast to join institutions of National Importance like IIITs.
The infrastructure development at the present IIIT city campus is in a lush green location of Imphal City, the capital of Manipur State and other new campus is getting ready for Inauguration in June 2025 with investments of about Rs 170 crores of infrastructure at Myangkhang surrounded by beautiful mountains & valleys in 150 acres of land about 50 Kms away from Imphal airport on the Asian Highway with good connectivity.
The Institute has 100 MBC scholarships fully funded by the Government of India every year. Students can avail of Collateral collateral-free loan of about Rs 30 lakhs from Canara Bank based on the admission letter alone.
The SC & ST full scholarships are also available from Tribal Ministry GoI apart from funding from State Governments scholarships and loans.
Manipur operates in PPP mode as the Institute of National Importance, Government of India under the Ministry of Education ( MoE) and offers four BTech programs in CSE, ECE, CSE - Spl with AI& Data, and ECE Spl with VLSI & Embedded system.
The B. Tech admission is through the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JOSAA) based on all India-level Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) marks.Our graduates get an annual salary package of 48 lakhs with an average of 12 lakhs, the Director informed.
