NIT Manipur signs MoA with EICT Academy of NIT Warangal
National Institute of Technology (NIT) Manipur signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with Electronics and Information & Communication Technology (EICT) academy of NIT Warangal. The EICT academy is under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India. The MoA was signed by Prof. D. V. L. N. Somayajulu, Director, NIT Manipur and Prof. Bidyadhar Subudhi, Director, NIT Warangal in presence of officials from both the institutes.
Prof. Bidyadhar Subudhi highlighted that such agreement will go a long way in the research collaboration of both the institute that will benefit the society as a whole. While reciprocating the same Prof. D. V. L. N. Somayajulu opined that such a collaboration will enable NIT Manipur to take a lead role in the training faculty members and researchers of Manipur in particular and north eastern region in general in the emerging areas of technology.
As a part of this collaboration, NIT Manipur aims to promote synergy and collaboration with industry, academia, universities and other institutions of learning, especially in emerging technology areas such as 5G, IoT/ Sensors, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning, Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR), Drones, Robotics, Additive Manufacturing, Gaming and Entertainment, Photonics, Nano-based devices, as well as other thrust areas such as medical electronics, defense and strategic electronics, automotive electronics, cyber security, power electronics and automation at the faculty and student levels.
Further, NIT Manipur is going to design, develop, and deliver specialized Faculty Development Programs (FDPs) on emerging technologies/ niche areas/ specialized modules for specific research areas for Faculty/ Teachers/ Mentors/ Professor of Practice/ Research Scholars in Higher Education Institutions (HEI).
FDPs on multi-disciplinary areas connected with ICT tools and technologies and other digital hybrid domains, covering a wider spectrum of engineering and non-engineering colleges, ITIs, polytechnics, and PGT educators will also be organized in physical, hybrid, and online mode.
