Freshers' / Farewell Party 2024-25 at IIIT Manipur

Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Manipur organised a memorable event on 16th of October 2024 at City Campus Mantripukhri, where the fusion of old and new students took place and everyone got to experience a memorable day in their life.

The program began with the recitation of “Vande Mataram” and welcome address by HOS of Student Affairs, Dr Kishorjit Nongmeikakpam. He stated the importance of discipline and strictness in evolving the students’ academic level and making them a gem of the nation through rigorous hard work.

Following this, Prof Krishnan Bhaskar, Director IIIT Manipur delivered the presidential address where he mentioned that the institute has been advancing in various domains like placement skills and networking skills. He added that students of both gender should interact with each other but also emphasized that we have to keep in mind our traditional roots and culture and act accordingly.

He also encouraged them to strive for excellence in their future endeavors and also welcome the new batch of 239 engineering degree students who have newly admitted this year.

The Director narrated about the struggles he faced to come up with the present strength of more than 750 student with more than 90 girls students, where it was only 215 students with only 3 girls students when he joint IIIT Manipur as a Director. A remarkable representation of one lone Manipuri girls admitted this year will be the ambassador for the Manipuri at IIIT Manipur in near future.

The chief guest of the program Shri Nishit Ujjwal, IPS and Inspector General of Police, Govt. of Manipur highlighted the fact that different students from every nook and corner of the country should come together and join hands to make this nation a better place through their technological skills. He also stated that students from rural background should focus solely on their life goals so that they can make their place known to everyone.

The 4th year students of the institute were commemorated with memento at the farewell program and the institute wished them a bright future ahead. As the party reached its climax, several students performed various cultural events which delighted everyone and the program was concluded with vote of thanks by cultural secretary of Gymkhana Council, Mr. Aman Maurya and recitation of “National Anthem”.
