NAMA Successfully Hosts the Dr. A. Surjalal Sharma Memorial Grant Award Ceremony :: Pix - The People's Chronicle

The North American Manipur Association (NAMA), in collaboration with the Research Institute of Science and Technology (RIST), Manipur, proudly hosted the Dr. A. Surjalal Sharma Memorial Grant Award Ceremony on Friday, December 27, 2024, at the Conference Hall, Department of Physics, Manipur University, Canchipur.

This prestigious event honored the extraordinary legacy of Dr. A. Surjalal Sharma, a distinguished astrophysicist and founding member of NAMA, by recognizing exceptional Ph.D. scholars in Manipur for their innovative research and academic excellence.

The ceremony was graced by eminent dignitaries, including:

o President of the Event: Prof. Lalit Pukhrambam, Wayne State University, Michigan, USA

Program Highlights:

o Speech by Prof. Lalit Pukhrambam on Dr. Sharma’s profound legacy and his impact on Manipuri researchers

o Mairembam Kelvin Singh (Physics, Manipur University): Research on climate change dynamics

o Somi Raikhan (History, Manipur University): Research on Christianity in Manipur’s history
