First Batch of Skill Development Courses at RGU under PMKVY 3.0 receives Certificates
Rajiv Gandhi University distributed certificates to successful candidates for skill development courses offered under skill hub initiative, PMKVY 3.0. The Programme started with the welcome address and a background note deleivered by Dr. Kaushalendra Pratap Singh, Nodal Officer, Skill Hub Centre (SHC), Rajiv Gandhi University.
Hon’ble Vice Chancellor addressed the gathering and emphasized that development of essential skills for self-empowerment will make the youth of Arunachal Pradesh self-reliant. He also said that the University will start paper processing unit in the campus soon, where the skills of trained candidates through this initiative will be utilized. He said that skilling India particularly the youth of the country is the need of hour for making the new India.
He congratulated all successful candidates for their future endeavors. Dr. N.T. Rikam, Registrar Rajiv Gandhi University said that skill development is most important requisite for youth empowerment in the region.
He congratulated all successful candidates and urged that they must utilize their newly developed skill for their personal and professional development. Prof. Sarit Kumar Chaudhury, Dean faculty of social sciences shared his life stories related to the importance of skill development. He also emphasized on the important role of a central university in rendering services to the neighboring communities.
While speaking on the occasion, Prof. Otem Padung, Finance officer, Rajiv Gandhi University, encouraged the candidates to take their training further in terms of joining higher level courses in the university and colleges.
He said that applied knowledge is very powerful and important to bring the positive changes in the community. Prof. P.K Panigrahi, the senior most faculty of Rajiv Gandhi University spoke on the occasion and highlighted the significance of skill development courses in the overall growth and development of the younger generations.
Two courses were offered, namely, Technician- paper bag manufacturing and CCTV-Installation technician. Total seventeen candidates have successfully completed their courses. The dignitaries presented the candidates with certificates.
As a promotion of skill development courses, rupees one thousand were given to each successful candidate. The courses under PMKVY 3.0 aimed at providing vocational training for the candidates, particularly out of education.
The expected outcome of the programmed was developed competencies of the candidates and to produce human resource in the field of Paper bag manufacturing and CCTV installation along with fulfilling the need of required employability skills of the candidates. Dr. Arnab Ghosh and Dr. Sanju Meetei, Assistant Professors, Rajiv Gandhi University, were the programme coordinators.
