Rajiv Gandhi University concludes Three Days International Seminar cum AIAER Conference
Valedictory function of Three Day International Seminar cum AIAER Annual Conference on the Theme “Reconstruction of Education for Sustainable Tomorrow” was held on 11th November, 2022 at 1:45 PM onwards organized by Department of Education, RGU in collaboration with All India Association of Educational Research (AIAER), Bhubaneswar; Denning College for Teachers’ Education, Tezu, Arunachal Pradesh; Kasturba Gandhi Institute of Higher Education, Roing, Arunachal Pradesh and Namdapha Degree College, Miao, Changlang, Arunachal Pradesh.
The Function was graced by the Chief Guest, Ms. Padmini Singla, Education Commissioner, Government of Arunachal Pradesh, Prof. P. K. Panigrahi Hon’ble Vice- Chancellor, incharge, RGU, Guest of Honour Prof. S. C Roy, Dept. of Education, NERIE, Shillong, Prof. Otem Padung, Finance Officer, RGU, Prof. T. Lhungdim, Dean, Faculty of Education and Sports Science, RGU, Prof. P. K. Acharya, Convenor and Head, Department of Education, RGU. Dr. Sumin Prakash & Dr. Vivek Singh were organizing secretaries.
Prof. P K Acharya, Head and Seminar Convener, Department of Education welcomed all the dignitaries on the dais and off the dais, seminar collaborative teacher training institutions partners, Deans of various Faculties, Heads of various Departments, Directors of various Centers, research scholars, students and media personnel. Dr. Sumin Prakash, organizing secretary, presented a brief seminar report.
Addressing the gathering, Prof. T. Lhungdim, Dean, Faculty of Education and Sports Science, appreciated the efforts taken by faculty members in general and research scholars in particular. Prof. Otem Padung, Finance Officer, RGU has added that nothing is permanent in this world except change. Change is the ultimate reality in the process of reconstruction. No reconstruction of education can take place without ICT.
In technology driven environment, every individual has to develop 5Rs such as reading, writing, arithmetic, computer and Internet. Dr. Anastasiia Onianova, Moscow State University of Medicine and Dentistry, Moscow, Russia, enumerated the facilities and schemes for the abroad students aspiring to pursue higher education in Russia. She also talked about fellowship available for foreign students to study in Russia and also touched upon the culture of internationalization in the institutions of Russia.
Emphasizing on reconstruction of education, Prof. S.C. Roy, Guest of Honor, has provided insightful inclinations on transformative pedagogy with a view to modify the present pedagogical processes into multidisciplinary, holistic and integrated approaches. He also highlighted the significance of constructivist approach for enhancing higher order thinking skills with a view to achieve objective based, outcome based and competence based learning.
He stressed upon pedagogy as a core element for bringing about knowledge, attitudes, values, habits, manners, skills and applications in the light of NEP- 2020. Chief Guest along with the dignitaries over the dais released a book titled “Psychoactive Substance Abuse among the Adolescence of the Arunachal Pradesh” authored by Dr. Lama Zangmu and Prof. Kesang Degi, Dept. of Education, RGU on behalf of International Seminar cum AIAER Annual Conference.
Mrs. Padmini Singla, Chief Guest, Education Commissioner, Government of Arunachal Pradesh in her valedictory address, talked about hybrid education. She has expressed that Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Virtual reality, Augmented Reality, Mixed Reality, Crossed Reality and Automation have been transforming the education with a view to provide platform for future learning.
In future, Robotic Education will become very prominent in Analytics, Reasoning, Medicine, Engineering and other Economy based discipline. NEP-2020 is inevitable policy for bringing about equity, excellence, expansion and affordability in reality. Quality research is very essential with a view to provide innovative practices not only in industry but also for egalitarian society.
Institutional autonomy is very essential in order to strengthen quality in terms of teaching, extension, development and effective governance. Skilled India Scheme has been focusing to enhance skills in various sectors for employment opportunities. Regulatory Framework is also indispensable to run educational institution with proper management and supervision.
Prof. P. K. Panigrahi Hon’ble Vice- Chancellor, incharge, RGU, chairing the valedictory session, pointed out that education process has been becoming as a business which needs to be reconstructed for sustainable tomorrow. Our nation is the vast country with huge diversity so it is need to refocus, redesign and reconstruct education for all learners with a view to enrich culture, customs, traditions, values and ethos of Indian system.
Flexible learning has created a new paradigm shift after terrible situation of Covid- 19 pandemic. Then after, participants of the seminar have given their feedback by appreciating the efforts of the various committees with regard to transportation, reception, accommodation, hospitability, solidarity and intimacy. Valedictory function was ended with vote of thanks by Dr. Vivek Singh, organizing secretary of the seminar.
