Abstract: With a vast array of cosmological datasets already available and expected to become available over the coming years it is imperative to devise efficient and accurate statistical methods for extracting physical information.
The power spectrum has been the most widely used statistical observable for cosmological analysis. In this talk we will present a pedagogical introduction to morphological statistics which go beyond the power spectrum, and contain information of all orders of N-point correlators.
These methods interface between geometry, topology and probability and have immense potential for applications to cosmology and many other fields.
