“A Celebration of Identity & A Journey of Peace”
Thadou Hun Committee 2025 (THC 2025) has finalized the theme for this year’s festival: “A Celebration of Identity, A Journey of Peace.”
This event is being jointly organised by Thadou Inpi Assam (TIA), Thadou Community International (TCI) and Thadou Students’ Association GHQ (TSA-GHQ), with the objective of strengthening Thadou cultural identity, unity, and recognition globally.
The theme reflects the Thadou community’s deep-rooted commitment to preserving its rich cultural heritage while advocating for peace, unity, and harmony. HUN is not just a festival but a reaffirmation of Thadou identity, values, and aspirations. It serves as a living bridge between generations, ensuring that Thadou language, customs, traditions, music, and craftsmanship remain vibrant and relevant in an evolving world.
Moreover, the Thadou people have always been known as peace-loving advocates of dialogue and coexistence. This festival stands as a symbol of cultural diplomacy, promoting peaceful engagement and mutual respect among diverse communities. Through the celebration of identity and the reinforcement of peace, HUN - Thadou Cultural Festival 2025 aims to strengthen social cohesion, preserve indigenous heritage, and inspire future generations.
Further details regarding the event schedule, dignitaries, and participation guidelines will be released in due course.
Statement: “Thadou is a distinct ethnic group of people. Thadou is not Kuki, or underneath Kuki, or part of Kuki, but a separate, independent entity from Kuki. Any organization that incorporates “Thadou” but espouses Kuki and mis-portrays Thadou as Kuki or a part of Kuki is illegitimate and does not represent Thadou people and interest” – Thadou Convention, 2024.
