Human Rights in North East India: Development
16 June 2015, 17:30hrs - 18:30hrs
Geneva, Room Number XXV
We are pleased to invite you to participate in a Side Event on Human Rights in North East India: Development on 16th of June from 17.30hrs-18.30hrs to be held at Geneva, Room Number XXV.
The program will be organised by Centre for Organisation Research & Education (CORE), an Indigenous Peoples NGO in Special Consultative Relations with ECOSOC of United Nations,
and Co-Hosted by Indraprastha Public Affairs Centre (IPAC). Both are constituent members of the Coalition on Environment and Natural Resources (CENRs) which was set up in November
2012 to focus on development issues that have direct and indirect impacts on indigenous
people’s rights. The coalition focuses on three main areas: Indigenous Peoples Rights and Natural
Resources; Extractives and its implications on sustainable socio-economic development; and
Women and Extractive Industries in the North-East Region of India.
We believe that the program will be an important and meaningful program, bringing together
people from all over the world thereby facilitating and contributing to free sharing of experiences,
knowledge and understanding of changes and challenges faced by indigenous communities
in North East, as well as the global responsibility we all share.
We look forward to your valuable participation.
