Imphal, February 12: A bomb look alike was found left by some unidentified persons near the house of Leimapokpam Shitol at Nganappai Thong at around 2.30 pm today.

It is reported that Shitol is a worker of MPP candidate in Keishamthong A/C L Ibomcha.

The fake bomb was later removed by police commandos.

The fake bomb made by attaching a detonator to a piece of GI pipe was also toyed by children earlier, not knowing what it was.

It may be mentioned here that Shitol was threatened by some unidentified gun men a few days back not to work for Ibomcha.

They also fired a round on the ground just beside the leg of Shitol.

Meanwhile, a Chinese made hand grenade deliberately left behind by some unidentified persons at the Uchekkon residence of independent candidate in Thongju A/C Thokchom Ajit at around 3.40 pm today was safely removed by explosive experts of Manipur Police.

Another hand grenade was left at the residence of Ajit yesterday morning too which was safely defused by explosive experts.

On the other hand, a call of a suspected bomb at a place in between Thayong and Nongren under Lamlai police station turned out to be just an elevated spot following road development work along the road.

Another call of an explosive near Kangpokpi bridge yesterday morning turned out to be a hoax when explosive experts reached the spot.
