Imphal, April 10: Irked with the failure of different civil organisations and Meira Paibi associations of the State to send their representatives to the shrada ceremony of the three victims of Heirok firing performed yesterday, the people of Heirok, local clubs and voluntary organisations during a meeting held yesterday has resolved to boycott all civil organisations including COHR, UCM, AMUCO, MAFYF, HERICOUN, Apunba Lup and others.

According to a press release issued by the People Organisation for Civil Integrity and Liberty (POCIL), Heirok all these organisations were invited to the shrada ceremony through mass media even though invitation cards were not delivered to these organisations by name.

In all the issues taken up by these State level organisations for Manipur, the people of Heirok and voluntary organisations would boycott them socially.

Expressing their desire to live peacefully, the POCIL appealed to all the organisations not to undertake any activity that may disturb peace in Heirok area.

From this day onward, the entire Heirok area has been named as Peace Land, it informed.

It also conveyed gratitude to MLA M Okendra for his generous assistance to the people of Heirok at this time of misery.
