Imphal, January 15: Under its policy of honouring cadres who sacrificed their lives during the course of the Kukiland cause and to extend solace to families of deceased cadres, the United Kuki Liberation Front (UKLF) today handed over Rs 15,000 each to all the bereaved families of 10 UKLF cadres at a place somewhere at Chandel district area.

The amounts were provided to the families to enable them purchase GI Sheets for house constructions, said the Front's public relation secretary Captain Mangboi Haokip.

Observing that untimely demises of the cadres has left a large void in the organisation, mangboi nevertheless asserted that the sacrifices of these cadres had been inspirational in furthering the cause of Kukiland.

Further highlighting that commitment and untiring zeal of these cadres would be etched forever in the history of UKLF.

mangboi also paid rich tributes to them.

The deceased cadres whose families were honoured today were listed by Mangboi as Ricky Lhanghar, Joel Haokip, Felix Haokip, Alex Zou, Ngamcha Baite, Robert Khongsai, Lightson Haokip, Sumer Khan Mate, Jacob Mate and Taichi Touthang.

The financial assistance was formally handed over to the bereaved families by the armed group's commanding officer Major Kenedy Haokip.

A tearful father of Ricky Lhanghar acknowledging the UKLF's sympathetic and considerate attitude towards the martyred cadres showered praise and invoked blessing of the almighty to the armed organisation's pursuit.
