Imphal, May 07 2010: Naga Independent MLA Danny Shaiza too has resigned in protest against the State Government's decision to bar the entry of NSCN (IM) general secretary Thuingaleng Muivah to visit his birth place.

With him, the number of Naga MLAs who resigned over the issue has reached 7 .

Yesterday, six Naga Independent MLAs namely M Thoirii, W Morung Makunga, Awangbow Newmai, K Raina, Wungnaoshang Keishing and Dr Khasim Ruivah submitted their respective resignation papers.

Danny Shaiza faxed his resignation letter to the Assembly Secretariat at around 10 am today.

The fax message was addressed to the Speaker.

Though the Speaker has not yet given approval to the resignations of the seven Naga Independent MLAs, it is said the matter is being looked into.

Shaiza represents Ukhrul AC.
