Imphal, December 27:
Former MPCC (I) president and TD Minister Phungzathang Tonsing has warned Manipur People's Party (MPP) against playing communal politics and campaigning for upcoming State Assembly election on communal line.
Speaking at the occasion of inaugural of Tribal Research Institute at Chingmeirong, Phungzathang charged that those who spoke at the occasion of the foundation day celebration of MPP yesterday deliberately mentioned the name of the some communities and personalities in an attempt to woo the voters.
Such cheap politics is despicable and should not be indulged in a pluraristic society, Phungzathang said, adding that Congress party does not believe in caste or creed.
Despite the tall claim, MPP would never be able to remove AFSPA from Manipur even if it came to power, Phungzathang categorically stated.
