Three killed in shoot-out

Imphal, November 28: In a late evening shoot-out today at lamshang area police commandos gunned down a suspected armed activist while two bodies have been recovered from different locations of thoubal district.

According to police sources, the encounter involving Imphal West police commandos took place at around 7.25 pm in Laining Khul (village) under Lamshang police station.

Police reportedly recovered a .32 revolver, two empty cases and five live rounds.

The deceased likely to belong to the Meitei community is attired in red-colour T-shirt.

The body has been brought to RIMS morgue.

On the other hand, out of two male bodies recovered from Thoubal district areas, one fished out from Manipur River near Sugnu bridge this morning is in an advanced stage of decomposition and is likely to be brought to RIMS morgue tomorrow.

The other body was found at an isolated spot in between Wangbal and Charangpat of Thoubal dist.

The victim bearing non-local features was found with eyes blind-folded and sharp we-apon wound at private part.
