Senapati responds positively to rally

Imphal, May 07 2010: In continued protest of the State Government's decision not to allow entry of NSCN (IM) general secretary Th Muivah to Manipur, around 5000 people took out a really in Senapati district head-quarters today.

After the rally, a joint meeting of the leaders of Naga apex bodies and other tribal leaders was held at Senapati indoor stadium where it was resolved that the ongoing agitation would be intensified till the Government of Manipur withdraw its stand.

Supporters of Muivah from Senapati district headquarters and its surrounding areas started gathering for the rally near the office complex of Deputy Commissioner of Senapati since early morning.

From there they took out a rally to passing through different parts of the district headquarters as well as along the National Highway 39 till Taphou.

From there, the rallyists proceeded back and converged at Senapati Bazar.

In the meeting of the leaders of the Naga apex bodies and tribal leaders held at Senapati indoor stadium after the rally, it was unanimously decided that the ongoing agitation would continue until the Govt of Manipur retracts its stand on barring the entry of NSCN (IM) general secretary Th Muivah to Manipur.

Meanwhile, Mao Students' Union, Imphal has condoled the death of two college students, namely Daikho Loshu and Neli Chakho, who were killing in police firing at Mao gate yesterday.

Expressing concern for the students of Mao Gate area where schools have remained closed for the 5th consecutive day, the pointed out that normal life of the people have been greatly affected due to imposition of curfew and CrPC 144 .
