48-hour general strike called by the Campaign for Just and Free Delimitation (JFD), on August 18th and August 19th 2026, demanding updation of National Register of Citizens (NRC) in the context of Manipur before commencement of Census exercise
The strike brought daily activities to a standstill in Imphal East, Imphal West, Thoubal, Kakching, Bishnupur and Jiribam to a standstill with shops, business establishments and commercial markets remaining shut.
