Meitei Goddess Phouoibi :: An Artwork :: March 2024

Ancient Meitei Goddess Phouoibi is associated with agriculture, animal husbandry, barns, cattle, crops, farmlands, fertility, grains, granary, harvesting, livestock, love, paddy, prosperity, rice and wealth. She has the divine power to control both crop plants and domestic animals, as evident in the antique classics of old Meitei mythology and folklore of Ancient Kangleipak civilization.

She is one of the most venerated female deities in the traditional Meitei ethnic religion (also called Sanamahism or Lainingthouism).

Among her multiple depictions, holding a phou charong (meaning "ear of paddy" in Classical Meitei Language) is a notable one.

As an author of this artwork, I am releasing it in public domain, dedicated to Mother Goddess Phouoibi.
